Cruisin’ For A Bruce-in: How To Hire A Lawyer Part 4 - The Process

In Cruisin' For A Bruce-in, we ride along with Florida Attorney Bruce Denson as he gives brief explanations on Florida Law and what to do in common legal situations.

Transcript

Like stockbrokers say, "Past results are not a prediction of the future." Don't pick an attorney just because of past results in their prior litigation. You want to pick an attorney who's handled your type of case, certainly, but you want to pick a lawyer who has a process that you like, one that communicates well with you, one that can clearly tell you how your case is going to proceed, what is the next best move for you to make.

So, while past results are important to tell you what type of case an attorney has handled, how they've done in the past with certain issues, it's more important to pick an attorney who has the processes necessary to deal with your case and to help you through the system.

Further Thoughts

Processes are more important than past results. While results are a good indicator of success, they don't tell the whole story. You want a lawyer who you work with well, who understands you, and who you can effectively communicate to get the results you need. So, when choosing a lawyer, always be sure that they have a process that works in your best interests, not just theirs.
