Right now it’s bad timing for any City Building to be requesting a makeover with City funds due to the Pier Project requiring an estimated $50 Million to complete. Regardless of this, the St. Petersburg Police have created a plan to rebuild their downtown Headquarters for an estimated $60 Million. Not surprisingly, 56% of the 303 local citizens that were polled have disapproved of the plan.
Opinions are varying on this topic of course, some suggestions are that St. Pete could use a new Police Headquarters instead of a New Pier. Some suggest the $60 Million budget is just outright inflated, and some think the money should be split between repairs and paying for extra “feet on the street”.
