In Cruisin’ For A Bruce-in, we ride along with Florida Attorney Bruce Denson as he gives brief explanations on Florida Law and what to do in common legal situations.
Alright, only about 1% of cases in Pinellas County go to trial. So, when you’re thinking about hiring a lawyer you’re not really thinking about trial. You know, you want to get your case resolved without trial you need an attorney who can work with the State Attorney’s Office and evaluate your case and resolve it without the stress and expense of going to trial. So, one: You need an attorney who can try a case you need an attorney with a history of trying cases so that the state respects them and gives you a decent offer to resolve your case, but you don’t want an attorney who’s out there trying a lot of cases because that means either the state attorney doesn’t respect them or they’re not properly evaluating cases. So, when you’re going to pick an attorney pick one who knows how to try a case but it’s more important to pick one who knows how to resolve your case without going to trial.
Your choice of a lawyer can make or break your case – however, if you can you want to avoid going to trial altogether. An experienced lawyer should be able to build relationships with the State’s Attorney and know how to negotiate their cases to get the out come that is best for their clients. When choosing a lawyer – always choose one that has a good relationship with the State’s attorney.
